Urban Decay De-slick mattifying powder

I recently discovered this amazing powder by Urban Decay! The De-slick mattifying powder, it’s perfect for my combination oily skin. This is a translucent/invisible powder that blots oil and shine, leaving you with a matte finish. I not a fan of a oil and shine, that’s just personally makes me feel like I’m icky and need to wash my face., which is why I love this powder. Let’s be honest no makeup looks perfect all day, but there are ways to keep it from looking run down and fresh. I use this a couple times throughout the day when I feel like I’m starting to look a little oily instead of a compact pressed face powder. It keeps my makeup matte for hours, I especially love using this with my Dior Nude Skin BB cream. It’s like using rice paper blotting sheets in a cute purple compact!!! With this powder a little goes a long way, if you use too much your face could show white streaks. I have been using this for a while now and for me it doesn’t show up in flash photography which is great! Overall I really love this product!

p.s This product is not for everyone, this is my personal view and experience with this product. I was in no way asked to review this product.

MAC Painterly Paint Pot

Ok I know that this is my third MAC review, but I just recently started using some MAC products and it’s just become my new obsession. But I promise to talk about some of the products that I love form other brands that I have been using for a while!

This is recent addition to my new MAC collection and it’s the MAC painterly paint pot. This product is relatively new to me, meaning I have only used it pretty much everyday for about a month.  I have heard a lot of good things about this paint pot, and I was in need of a new primer, so I decided to try this one and I love it!! My eye shadow stays on all day and doesn’t crease.

They have a few different colors, but this one is similar to my skin tone so it’s perfect for me. It has a cream like texture, but sets quickly and its hard to move, which helps make the makeup last longer. To apply the Painterly paint pot I just use my finger to blend it onto my lid, and crease of my eye, and then apply my eye makeup normally. I love this product and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good eye base. You can also you this as a concealer for the under eye area, but I prefer to use it as a primer.

photo 3-3photo 2-2

Even though it is $20, you only need a small amount for the the entire eye area, so this pot should last you a while even if you use it everyday.  I love that it is easy to apply, and easy to remove, but it lasts all day. All in all I am very happy that I purchased this!! The only downside is that this is a little bit on the pricey side, so If you are not looking to spend that much money, this isn’t for you.

p.s this is my personal opinion on this product, it’s not for everyone, try it out for yourself to see how you feel about it!

MAC blue brown pigment

MAC blue brown pigments is the second MAC product I have bought. I saw a tutorial by Jaclyn Hill and I just fell in love with it, it’s a shade that people either love or hate, and I love it!! It’s a pigment which means it is a powder eyeshadow that comes in a little jar. Pigment’s can be used for more than just shadow but I think that this pigment might be a little intense if you use it as a lip color or blush, and I am not that bold when it comes to experimenting with make up. I have never used a pigment before, so it takes a little trial and error with learning how to apply this properly without a ton of fallout. With this pigment a little bit goes a long way, and it’s bluish red brown shades, I think would look amazing on anyone’s skin tone.

I used this with a basic nude shadow, and MAC’s brown script shadow in my crease, for a more smokey eye. Which is perfect if you want a little more bold, yet simple and soft look for the evening. I don’t really use this pigment during the daytime, for me it looks a little too intense, but I’m sure if you mix this with some lighter colors you can get a perfectly wearable daytime eye.

The only problem I can see with this pigment is that when it’s sheered out, the brown color fades into more of a warm/soft-wine red, which doesn’t bother me I actually still love it, but it could make some people look like they have been punched in the face. So just don’t sheer it out so you can get the full blue brown effect!

p.s. This is just my personal opinion of this product, you can get a sample of it to try it out and form your own opinion of this pigment color.

I love the bright colors for summer! I normally gravitate towards dark/warmer colors. But I love to mix it up in the summer…so I think that the summer look-book is perfect for all my fun summer outfits!! I recently went out to dinner with one of my girlfriends and I wore this outfit for our sushi date! I felt like it was the perfect outfit for a really hot summer night.

Young and Beautiful

Hey guys so here is the next sketch inspired by Young and Beautiful sung by Lana Del Rey for the movie The Great Gatsby!! I am in love with the twenties look right now, I think that the cat eye look with red lips is very simple and beautiful, if done correctly. I aslo love the beaded flapper dresses, but ones that a little more modern, to fit with the times we live in.

Uses for Vaseline

I already did a Uses for Vicks VapoRub positing, so I thought I would do a Vaseline posting. Some of these are fairly common knowledge, I think, but often forgotten uses. I hope that you enjoy and take away some helpful natural new ways to use Vaseline! You might be surprised by some of these!!

photo 4-5

1. Longer eyelashes: Lather Vaseline all over your eyelashes overnight and it will help to thicken them.

2. Remove stubborn Makeup: Apply to a Q-tip and gently rub on those makeup spots that are just too stubborn to remove.

3. Help your scent stick around: Rub all over your perfume points (i.e. the cleavage, behind the ear, neck, and wrist) and your scent will stick to the vaseline and last longer!

4. Chapped Lips: Apply to your lips as a deep moistening conditioner. You can even turn it into lip gloss by adding a little Kool-Aid powder mix to it!

5.  Dry Cuticles and hands: Rub on your all over you cuticles and hands to apply and keep the moisture in your hands.

6. Softer Skin: It doesn’t clear your pores, and it helps to keep in moisture and soften your skin.

7. Lipstick smudges: Rub all over your teeth to prevent your lip stick for bleeding all over your teeth. A trick that is used in pageants (I learned it from Miss Congeniality)!!

8. Eyebrows: Apply to your brows just after hair removal to apply instant relief, or use it moisten the skin under you brows so you don’t see any flakeyness.

9. Prevent hair color from blending onto your forehead: Dab all over your hairline to keep the box dye form dying your forehead the color of your hairdo.

10. Cover Split Ends: hide damage ends with a small amount on your ends. You can also rub hairspray or Aragon oil onto your ends.

11. Exfoliant: Mix with some sea salt and use as a body wash and come out of the show having baby soft, shiny skin!

12. To make your accessories look brand new: Put a small dab on your shoes and shine away

13. Use it to remove the glue from your false eyelashes.

14. Shaving: Use it to soothe and smooth your skin right after shaving or waxing. I use baby oil, but this has the same affect.

15. Earrings: Apply a small amount to the stump of your earring to help lubricate your earlobes to make it easier to insert you earrings.

16. Halloween Pumpkin Carving: Rub Vaseline all over the exposed edges of your pumpkin, it helps to prevent it from rotting or drying so quickly.

Makeup Forever HD foundation

It is always hard to find the perfect foundation. There are always so many factors to consider, the shade, coverage, does it cake, how long does it last…etc. I have several different types from drug store foundation to more pricey ones at makeup counters. But I have to say that out of all of them MAKE UP FOREVER “High Definition Foundation” or “invisible cover foundation” is my all time favorite foundation and works the best with my skin. I find it to be a much lighter foundation than most others and for a full coverage foundation (which most full coverage foundations can feel quite cakey and heavy) this one isn’t, I even find it more lightweight than some build able foundations, and it stays on all day!!

I don’t have many (or if any) blemishes to begin with, but with this foundations innovative HD formula, it is created to seem invisible on camera, and with the naked eye, I found that when I wear this foundation it doesn’t make me look like Im wearing really that much makeup and that its caked on. It has an oil free formula, that is not that heavy, but will cover almost all your imperfections. And is designed to make you look your best. I have oily combination skin and this works well for me, but it should work well with oily skin as well. It will also give you a demi matte look, which means your skin will look in-between glowy/dewy (not oily) and matte, which for me is perfect, because I tend to like my skin to me bore matte than shiny, but still have a natural looking shine. For me this foundation is amazing, and is definitely be my go to foundation!

I use this in 173 Amber and it is a perfect match to my skin! I have been using this for about two years now, and it has worked very well for my changing skin, my skin used to be very oily, and now it is more combination, but this foundation gives me a very natural finish.

ps. this is just my personal opinion of this product and I was in no way asked or paid to give a review, this foundation might not be for everyone.

Tarte Mascara

I have always used Maybelline or Covergirl mascara, but a couple of months ago my eyes started to get really irritated from my drugstore mascara, so I decided to switch to one made with better ingredients. So I went to Sephora and I saw this one, and I had to have it!! I would like to say that the ingredients was what persuaded me to buy this, but I just loved the packaging!! It’s so cute that I just had to buy it! But I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it!! I have relatively long lashes and it makes them look even longer and fuller, and It holds the curl all day! It’s my new favorite mascara. The formula in this product I think does truly coat, protect and nourish your eyelashes. This is the first Tarte product that I have ever bought and I am definitely happy with this product.  The one thing that I don’t like about this mascara it that it isn’t waterproof at all…which kind of stinks when you live in a rainy place like me.
